Illuminate Losantiville

When needed, I use a large shared studio space in Cincinnati called Losantiville. Together with another tenant, her friend, and the owner/manager of the place, we made a push to clean up the space to make room for more future tenants. As part of that, we figured, we’ve got all these big art installations sitting around between us and our friends, we might as well throw a party! With the party, we hoped to gather some press coverage and ultimately attract some new tenants.

Both Jess Wolf of Paper Acorn and myself use the space, but we invited our friends from Kemper Sauce Studios, Cincy Nice, and Evan Verrilli (who also brought along a DJ). Most of the participants had been involved in BLINK at some point, so that was how we pitched the story to the news. A TV station did show up and interviewed me, as well as some members of the BLINK team who also attended. We had low expectations but everyone was thrilled with the turnout and had a great time.

The space itself has some logistical issues for a party, such as one restroom, access only by freight elevator/four flights of stairs, and limited walk-up visibility. Jess and I just thought it would be fun to have a party and try to help the space, but everyone kept asking us when we’d be doing the next one. So I don’t know, keep your eyes peeled I guess. #dontforgettolikeandsubscribefam
