Martin Wedding 2022

A close friend’s sister was getting married at a beautiful location in Cincinnati and the bride asked me to create a piece for the occasion. Wanting to avoid minimizing the view (ironically, The View is also the name of the venue) of Cincinnati from their perch in Mt. Adams, I chose a design for the piece which created a sense of warm, welcoming elegance and which also in no way impeded the view of the city. When looking towards the skyline, the yarn all but disappears. As you approach the venue doors the piece draws you in and envelops you, but after passing a threshold the splendor of the location flowers again in full force by re-revealing the overlook.

The colors chosen were UV purple and white with a glitter-like effect which is difficult to see in photos (see above image), but which was apparent in person. This palette was made using colors that fluoresce under UV light but without being too wild, which was intended as a way to maintain elegance. Because, after all, weddings are just a big, fancy party.

The bride and groom were thrilled.

Event was held in November 2022.
